For New Years, I spent it in Victoria Falls. This was a blast! It was also my first New Years away from family and friends. Pretty much I was in a different country half way across the world all by myself. Hearing about the Vic Falls Carnival, I looked it up and bought a ticket. I was going to enjoy my New Years and it was going to be a blast!
While visiting the Chimanimani Mountains, the overland group I met there said they would be in Vic Falls for New Years as well. They had invited me to come hang out with them since I was traveling alone. Making my way to the other backers a few blocks away, I was able to find them and we caught up on our recent travels.
With the sun going down, it was time to catch the bus and head to the carnival! Thousands of people from various countries come to Vic Falls for New Years. It was definitely going to be a blast with many different artists playing. Showing up around 8:30, the music had already begun and there was food and drinks available. The weather on the other hand was not cooperating too much. It was a bit chilly and raining! With the festival being outside, we were all going to get soaked.
It was definitely a great time! The music was awesome and even with it raining the whole time we had a blast. It was so fun to bring in the new year with a new group of people that I had just recently met half way around the world. This will be one New Years I won’t ever forget!
